Madeleine competed as a national level middle distance runner throughout high school, representing Tasmania at multiple national athletics and cross country championships. Whilst undertaking studies at University she was looking for an extra challenge, therefore decided to attempt her first triathlon in 2007 and hasn’t looked back since.

In her first season of triathlon Madeleine won the 2007/08 Victorian Gatorade Triathlon Elite Series Award. In her second season she gained selection in the Australian Age-Group Triathlon Team to compete at the 2009 ITU World Olympic Distance Championships, where she attained 3rd place.

Since securing her Professional Triathlon Licence in 2010, Madeleine has gone from strength to strength and has begun competing at the international level. Madeleine spent the 2010 Australian winter training in Boulder, Colorado. Whilst overseas she also competed in a number of races across North America and Canada where she attained numerous top 10 finishes in her rookie season as a Professional Triathlete.

Madeleine has since returned to Australia for the 2010/11 domestic season where she has dominated the Victorian Gatorade Triathlon Series. This year has also seen Madeleine step up in distance to Half Ironman events. In her first Half Ironman event in November 2010 she placed 5th Professional Female in a time of 4hr33min. Madeleine’s recent result of 1st place Professional Female at the 2011 Victorian Long Course Championships has set her up for an exciting year where she will race in numerous 70.3 events across North America.

Madeleine's future goal is to become a consistent top level Professional Triathlete.
